Kids Cooking Camp
Recommended for age 5 to 13. 8 Hour Core Cooking Material is used to create four, half days of cooking fun.
Day 1: Healthy Snacking
Covers all kinds of foundational information such as kitchen preparedness, kitchen safety, proper food handling, hygiene, cross-contamination, measuring, and proper food storage. Students also make some quick, healthy snacks to take home.
Day 2: Healthy Breakfasts
You'll dive right in and make some amazing breakfast dishes and summer sweet smoothies using fresh from the field produce. Your students won't believe how good mother nature can taste. The importance of fueling your body for the day will also be covered.
Day 3: Healthy Lunches
Homemade lunches can be boring and school cafeteria lunches can be costly and unhealthy. Well not anymore. You'll create some fun and exciting lunches that are easy to make and packed with important nutrients for "kids on the grow".
Day 4: Healthy Substitutions of our Favorite Foods
Burgers, pizza, chicken fingers, mac and cheese... kids have their favorites and they will learn how to substitute and rework some of their favorite recipes to create the healthiest versions on the planet while still tasting GREAT! You'll also teach healthy substitutions, food labels, and daily nutritional requirements.
Activity sheets, recipes, helpful tips, and hands-on activities are included in the course material. Students of the Kids Cooking Camp receive a Certificate of Completion.
